Pirate Grammar

This morning Year 1 were very busy sorting some pirate-themed words into groups, according to whether they were nouns, verbs or adjectives. We are getting quite good at recognising these categories. We know that nouns are naming words (people, places or things), that verbs are action or "doing words" and adjectives give us information about nouns and are describing words.
Next term we will look further at adverbs, to discover how these tell us information about verbs.
